School Daze

The holidays are over for Jaimie and Bec and it's time for school to start. Bec is stressing out a bit because she doesn't know what to wear. It's not just a "girl thing" actually since the kids in Australia almost all have to wear uniforms to class and there's really no decisions to be made. Not so in the USA where kids can and do wear just about whatever they can get away with while pushing the minor school dress codes to the very edge.

Golden High School was able to land some new money in one of the last elections and has been completely rebuilding the campus over the last year. This summer they tore down the remaining buildings and now we have a whole new facility for the kids. Jaimie was really stoked about the new theater. As I may have mentioned earlier, we have been suffering through plays and recitals on broken 100 year old wooden chairs for the last three years, and now the word on the street is that the new seats are really "comfy"...... I'll be the judge of that! Anyway, Bec didn't feel so bad about not knowing her way around since nobody else did either.
