Blizzard of '09

Once again the media created a weather disaster for Colorado. 12 inches of snow (or at least the threat) in about 3 hours was enough to shutdown most of Denver. That's kind of unusual since this kind of storm earlier in the winter probably wouldn't have attracted much notice, but since we haven't had any snow in the last 2 months I guess this freaked everyone out. The governor went so far as to declare Colorado a disaster area so he could dip into federal dollars. The news stations got so excited they covered the unfolding "epic" around the clock. When it was all done we got about 18" here in the foothills. My only tragedy was a broken snow blower so I had to do it the hard way. It was the most snow we have gotten this season in one dose, but still the whole thing was a bit over the top.
