Gay 'Ol Time in Sydney

Sorry for the dry spell of posts. Things have been a little slow in Colorado lately, and the down-under daughter has been severely delinquent in sending photos back home. Be that as it may Jaimie has now supplied us with some material to work with so off we go again.

Apparently Sydney holds a Mardi Gras for people of the Homer-sexual persuasion complete with floats, and parades. The streets, I am told, are crawling with speedo clad "gentlemen" who apparently are let out of the closet once each year to frolic in the streets, and make a spectacle of themselves. Why they would want to do this, and, more importantly, why anyone else would want to go watch this I can't imagine, but it happens. Jaimie attended with Annies family (one of the other Aussie exchange students) and Kristin Keener another Yank. Despite the questionable nature of this event, it sounds like everyone had a fun time.

Another recent event was the liaison Weekend. The Americans were treated to a weekend of fun with some of the prospective Aussie students for the next round of exchanges, and the adult liaisons for this years crew. Details are sketchy due to Jaimie's lack of details but one event was a swim with dolphins. I guess they lower the kids in a net alongside the boat, and dolphins swim up along side. A trip was also made to the world famous Sydney opera house
